Cloud migration is a substantial decision with no "one-size-fits-all" solution. Your business is very unique, and so should be your cloud migration plan. Your plan certainly needs to be tailored to suit the unique nature of your business so as not to fall into a trap of failure, as we see many companies doing once they start on migration. As we all are aware, cloud migration is not as easy as swapping the infrastructure and calling it a day. It must be personal, well-thought, well-engaged and focus on long-term gains.

How important is it to migrate? 

The answer lies within your business model, how you’d like to alter it and the effects of such a decision financially, as well as technologically. There will be quite a bit of onsite residue after any migration and it's important to think about how you are going to deal with that.

Here are three things to remember while choosing a partner:

  • POC:  Consider this to ensure the outcome will be as expected
  • Consider the kind of migration services you need. For example: Do you need a partner for the data migration, for application development or for managed services?
